Dr. Rachelle Leong
May 13, 2019 — Rachelle Y. Leong, MD, has joined the Englewood Health Physician Network and Breast Surgical Services at Englewood Hospital. Dr. Leong is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon with clinical interests in breast cancer surgery, benign breast disease, breast cancer in minorities and young women, and women at high risk for breast cancer.
“For me, it is an honor to take care of women with breast disorders,” says Dr. Leong. “Having been on both the family and the medical side of cancer, I am committed to providing outstanding and comprehensive surgical and medical care for patients with breast disease. In my practice, I try to create a sense of calmness, clarity, and reassurance for my patients.”
She adds, “It is great to be a part of the team at Englewood Health where, together with other talented specialists and enhanced communication through a shared electronic medical record, I can provide personalized, leading-edge surgical care to patients with breast cancer and other breast conditions.”

Dr. Leong is board certified in general surgery. She received her MD from New York Medical College. She did her general surgery residency at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health, where she was administrative chief resident and a clinical instructor, followed by a breast surgery fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, and Mount Sinai West). She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Leong joins Englewood Health from RWJ Barnabas Health, Clara Maass Medical Center, where she was director of breast surgery. She is now a member of The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center at Englewood Hospital.
