Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Announces Executive Leadership Appointment

March 24, 2015 – Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (EHMC) has appointed Dimitri J. Cruz to the position of Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

In this role, Cruz will develop and implement innovative technology solutions in support of the medical center’s business and clinical objectives, in addition to overseeing network operations, telecommunications, and information security initiatives.

“With nearly three decades of experience, Dimitri will be instrumental in our efforts to deliver the best technological experience for clinicians, administrators, employees, and patients,” said Warren Geller, President and CEO of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “He will lead our efforts to develop and enhance clinical information systems, electronic health records, business systems, web and mobile applications, patient portals, and other solutions that can improve quality outcomes while reducing costs.”

Cruz most recently served as Site Chief Information Officer at North Shore Long Island Jewish (LIJ)-Lenox Hill Hospital and its subsidiary, Manhattan Ear, Eye, and Throat Hospital. Before joining North Shore LIJ, Cruz held leadership positions at Bayonne Medical Center, Tenet Health System, and Mount Sinai Medical Center, among other prominent healthcare facilities across the country.

After receiving his BA in economics at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, Cruz earned a Master of Arts degree in economics at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in New York, New York.
