About Gerald Portman

Dr. Portman is board certified in urology. His primary clinical interests are urology and urologic oncology, including cancers of the bladder, kidney, prostate, and testis; benign prostatic hyperplasia; kidney stone disease; and men's health. He has expertise in endourology, including laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery and laparoscopic nephrectomy, as well as in MRI-ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsy. Dr. Portman received his MD from the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He did a urology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a robotics and laparoscopy fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center. In addition to English, he is fluent in Russian.
