Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)

Neonatal ICU

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a specialized area equipped to meet the needs of babies born prematurely or needing additional medical care. Our team is committed to providing your baby with the very best care, and as part of our philosophy of family-centered care, we welcome you as an important member of the NICU team.

We will provide you with information about what is happening with your baby throughout your stay and will be available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any questions you have, give you support, and help you through admission to discharge of your baby.

This site provides important and helpful information for families of babies in the NICU, including:

Understanding Your Baby’s Experience

For most parents, the NICU is a foreign experience. It helps to familiarize yourself with the equipment we use and the tests and services your baby may experience; signs your baby may be in pain and how to help manage the pain; and how parents can bond with their baby in the NICU.  We also have a glossary of terms for your reference.
