June 14, 2019 — Urologist Gerald Portman, MD, has joined the Englewood Health Physician Network and Englewood Hospital. Dr. Portman’s primary clinical interests are urologic oncology, including cancers of the bladder, kidney, prostate, and testis; benign prostatic hyperplasia; kidney stone disease; and men’s health. He has expertise in endourology, including laparoscopic and robotic urologic oncologic surgery, as well as in MRI-ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsy.

Dr. Portman is board certified in urology. He received his MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He did a urology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a robotics and laparoscopy fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center. In addition to English, he is fluent in Russian.

Dr. Portman joins Englewood Health from Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was an assistant professor of urology. He has presented research on robotic and laparoscopic urologic surgery at the World Congress of Endourology in Canada and in South Africa.
