Vascular Surgeon Adam Sagarwala, DO, Joins the Englewood Health Physician Network and Englewood Hospital

August 14, 2019 — Vascular surgeon Adam R. Sagarwala, DO, has joined Thomas Bernik, MD, in practice at Englewood Health Physician Network – Vascular Surgery and Englewood Hospital. Dr. Sagarwala’s clinical interests encompass complex aortic disease, including abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms; carotid artery disease; renal artery disease; venous disease and peripheral artery disease. He is skilled in open, endovascular, and hybrid vascular surgery, as well as vascular ultrasound.

“My commitment to my patients is to ensure that they receive timely and appropriate care to address their vascular disease and improve their health,” says Dr. Sagarwala. “I believe in educating patients about their condition and discussing treatment options, to enable them to live fuller lives.”

Dr. Sagarwala is board certified in vascular surgery and in general surgery. He has additional certification as a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). He received his DO from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine–UNT Health Science Center. Additionally, he has a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Sagarwala did his general surgery residency at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine–Grant Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center–RWJBarnabas Health, in New Jersey.

Dr. Sagarwala joins Englewood Health from Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, where he was medical director of the non-invasive vascular laboratory. He is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and a member of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Association.

He is a recipient of the Physician of the Year Award from Lifeline of Ohio, for outstanding collaboration on organ and tissue donation, and he has presented research on vascular disease at the Vascular Society of New Jersey annual meeting.
