Whether you have prediabetes, diabetes, a strong family history or a loved one with this disease, it can be frustrating and confusing to watch your sugar. “Should you be eating that?” “Did you check your sugars?” This lecture will teach you how and what foods impact your blood sugar, other factors that contribute to high blood sugar, and how to read and understand your blood work and medications. You will leave with a better understanding and tools to initiate changes to control and lower your blood sugars and risks.
The store tour is for those looking to change their eating habits to lower their risk for diabetes. Understand what it means to be prediabetic/diabetic, and how sugary foods can affect your health. Learn about how consuming low glycemic foods can help keep your blood sugar under control and the tools to prevent diabetes by giving you the do’s and don’ts of eating with prediabetes.
Part of the Store Tours series, in which nutrition experts from the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine lead store tours to learn about healthy eating and shopping tips.
