Part of The Rodgers Family Meditation Program
Cosponsored by the Community Health Improvement Partnership of Bergen County (CHIP).
Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of and present in the moment. Meditation helps you relax and observe your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) teaches you to better understand and experience your emotions, and to show empathy for others. In this workshop, you will practice all three techniques to help you connect with others, nourish your mind and body, and feel rejuvenated. Incorporating mindfulness into your daily life can directly affect your eating patterns, guiding you to eat in a slower, more purposeful way. This practice can help reduce stomach upset following meals and result in a greater appreciation for and a healthier mindset when it comes to food. You will also learn the importance of belly breathing, differentiating between physical and emotional hunger cues, and teaching children to be more aware of their eating triggers. Find out how to add these strategies to your personal practice and classroom routines to enhance overall well-being.
