Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Emergency medical services

Our accredited Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team operates one of the largest, most comprehensive EMS systems in Bergen County. Our EMS team provides immediate pre-hospital care to patients 24/7/365. Our fleet and team are equipped with the latest equipment and skills, bringing the renowned Englewood Health’s renowned care to patients in their homes and the community. Each year we respond to more than 20,000 calls for service in up to 45 different towns within Bergen County.

We also assist in many community events in the city of Englewood and neighboring towns and respond to local disasters with specialized equipment received through many federal grants. Our EMS team has partnered with many school districts to provide CPR and bleeding control training as part of the American College of Surgeons’ Stop the Bleed initiative.

We have earned accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services—one of just three agencies in New Jersey to have earned this distinction in recognition of a commitment to high standards of patient care.

EMS Training Center

As an American Heart Association community training center, we offer training and education programs for first responders, EMTs/paramedics, and healthcare professionals, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and others, as well as CPR courses for the public.
