About Ruben Salas-Parra, MD

Dr. Salas-Parra is a general surgeon. His primary clinical interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, abdominal wall surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. He earned his MD from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, and completed his general surgery residency at BronxCare Health System and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He subsequently completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and advanced gastrointestinal surgery at the North Shore University Hospital/Northwell, followed by a fellowship in abdominal wall surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Salas-Para remains active in research and has published several manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Hernia Society, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Latino Surgical Society. He joined Englewood Health Physician Network in 2026.
