Annie’s path back to health
When Annie experienced intense pain near her appendix, she knew something was wrong. She turned to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where gastroenterologists discovered the reason for her pain–Crohn’s disease, a type of inflammatory bowel disease that was damaging sections of her intestines. Learning surgery might be her best option to improve her quality of life, Annie decided to have a portion of her colon and appendix removed.
