August 13, 2014—Englewood Hospital and Medical Center was honored as one of Health Care’s “Most Wired” hospitals and health systems of 2014. The recognition was granted based on the results of the 16th annual Most Wired Survey, sponsored by the Hospitals & Health Network. The survey evaluates the advancements hospitals have made in information technology (IT) across four categories: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, and care continuum.
Over the past five years EHMC’s Information Technology Department has adapted new and innovative systems and procedures to provide accurate and timely medical information to patients and physicians, allowing the Medical Staff to make the most informed decisions about treatments and increasing patient safety. The Medical Center’s IT Department also ensures information is communicated swiftly and efficiently between departments and Medical Staff.
EHMC’s advanced electronic medical record system and the recently launched online Patient Portal exemplify the tremendous strides the Medical Center has made in information technology over the past five years. These technologies create a cohesive and transparent system of information sharing among patients, physicians and other healthcare providers. EHMC’s major IT initiatives reflect the Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to stay on the leading edge of technological advancements to support its mission of providing the highest quality care in a compassionate environment.
“EHMC is proud to receive this recognition, which reflects our commitment to staying on the leading edge of healthcare technology,” said Ron Fuschillo, EHMC Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “Leveraging the latest information technology advancements helps support our mission of providing patients the highest level of quality care and safety.”
