Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Names Kathleen Kaminsky Chief Population Health Officer

January 21, 2016 – Englewood Hospital and Medical Center has appointed Kathleen Kaminsky MS, RN, NEA-BC to senior vice president and chief population health officer. The hospital created the position in response to the shifting healthcare model, as hospitals transition from transaction-based to value-based care.
Kaminsky most recently served as senior vice president for clinical effectiveness and chief quality officer, in addition to interim chief nursing office since June 2015.

“Kathy has a strong track record of spearheading our organizational efforts to achieve national recognition for both quality and safety and has advanced our medical center as a high-value partner to payers,” said Warren Geller, president and CEO of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “I am thrilled that Kathy, who has served with us for 30 years in nursing and quality leadership, will be leading this important effort.”

In her expanded role, Kaminsky will oversee the development and implementation of the hospital’s population health management strategy, encompassing clinical integration across a much broader continuum of care, including accountable care organizations. She will provide strategic and operational leadership, building upon her critical successes in launching the hospital’s quality and safety initiatives.

Kaminsky began her career at Englewood Hospital in 1985 as a unit secretary and became a staff nurse in 1986. She was appointed to the role of director of Systems/Practice Development in 1996, director of the Center for Nursing Practice in 1999. Over the next decade and a half, Kathy began serving in a variety of progressive leadership capacities with expanding responsibilities.
