About Rajesh Veluvolu, MD
Dr. Veluvolu specializes in gastroenterology. His main clinical interests are gastrointestinal cancers, including colon cancer, esophageal cancer, and stomach cancer, and GI cancer screening and prevention. Dr Veluvolu has expertise in treating obesity, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel disease (IBD), and liver diseases, including hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis. Dr. Veluvolu received his MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine, in Grenada, West Indies, and an MS in biomedical sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), in Newark. He did an internal medicine residency, and was a chief resident, at SUNY Downstate Medical Center/Long Island College Hospital and did a gastroenterology fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. In addition to English, Dr. Veluvolu is fluent in Telugu and conversational in Spanish.
I have deep compassion for patients suffering from gastrointestinal disorders. My goal is to prevent GI disease, manage symptoms, and help patients to function better, so they can enjoy their lives.
