Adult Volunteer Program

Volunteer at Englewood Health

People of all ages, backgrounds, skills, and education, including students and retirees, dedicate their time for the good of others. Volunteering offers rewarding learning opportunities, as well as a chance to give back to your community. Volunteers enhance patient care. Whether through direct interaction or behind-the-scenes work, our volunteers fuel the hospital so the highest level of healthcare can be provided. Volunteers offer their time in more than 50 areas of the hospital. Some responsibilities involve direct patient contact such as transporting patients, while others involve clerical support.

We are currently not accepting applications for our adult volunteering program. Check back in spring 2024 for the next application period.

Time Commitment

We ask volunteers to commit at least one shift of 4 hours per week for 3-6 months. Assignments are available during the week, either 9 am – 1 pm or 1 pm – 5 pm.

College students interested in volunteering in the summer must apply by March 1. A summer assignment requires an 8-week commitment.

How to Apply

The following are required in order to be accepted into the volunteer program.

  • Physician clearance (we can contact your physician on your behalf)
  • Proof of flu shot (during flu season)*

*Instructions for providing proof of the flu vaccine will be provided during the application process.

Interested applicants must submit an application online (next application period opens spring 2024; please check back later). Following a personal interview, comprehensive orientation, and background check, an assignment is created based on medical center need, as well as volunteer interest, skill, and availability.
