Englewood Hospital Residents

PGY1 and PGY3 residents receive formal training in Geriatric Medicine and are equipped with the skills needed to provide high quality acute, chronic, and preventive care to older adults. During these required 2-week rotations, our PGY1 residents work alongside board-certified Geriatricians to gain exposure to the outpatient and long-term care settings through work within office-based practices, subacute rehab centers, skilled nursing facilities and home visits. Our PGY3 residents work on Geriatric Consult and Inpatient Hospice services to experience an acute care setting. At the culmination of this rotation, our PGY1 residents lead a Geriatrics Case Conference covering a high-yield topic in Geriatric Medicine, incorporating principles of Evidence-Based Medicine and High Value Care.
